There are two main types of ISSE memberships – Affiliate and Professional:

  • Affiliate is the entry-level ISSE membership and does not require any competence rating.
    • Student (suitable for students, trainees, apprentices, amateurs & DIY Enthusiasts)
    • Corporate Business (suitable for installation contractors, associates, product suppliers, product manufacturers, estate & letting agents, consultancy practices, insurances brokers & companies, pharmacist, medical surgeries, group practices and more!)
  • Professional membership is granted depending on evidence submitted to us so we can confirm your range of skills, knowledge, evidence, and ethical behaviour. Our Professional membership is split into three categories:
    • Associate (AISSE) – suitable for Technicians, Installers, Operators, and Trainee Surveyors and Engineers
    • Member (MISSE) – suitable for Gold Standard Surveyors, Engineers, Managers, and Consultants
    • Fellow (FISSE) – suitable for Gold Standard Surveyors, Engineers, Managers, and Consultants

To qualify as a Professional member, you will have to provide evidence of your career profile and demonstrate a range of skills.

We offer different ways through the assessment process, and our team will support you and answer any questions you have during your journey of becoming a qualified member of ISSE.

Associate (AISSE)

Associate Member is available on completion of the evidence submitted that demonstrates a minimum OFQUAL RQF competence assessment rating level 3.

This includes demonstrating evidence of the following:

  • Career profile (CV or detailed LinkedIn profile
  • Vocational and/or academic qualifications
  • Participation in training events e.g. CPD
  • One of more survey reports (or similar_ evidence of SKEBs
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance cover
  • Public Liability Insurance cover

 

Member (MISSE)

Member status is available on completion of the evidence submitted that demonstrates a minimum OFQUAL RQF competence assessment rating level 6.

This includes demonstrating evidence of the following:

  • Career profile (CV or detailed LinkedIn profile
  • Vocational and/or academic qualifications
  • Participation in training events e.g. CPD
  • One of more survey reports (or similar_ evidence of SKEBs
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance cover
  • Public Liability Insurance cover

 

Fellow (FISSE)

Member status is available on completion of the evidence submitted that demonstrates a minimum OFQUAL RQF competence assessment rating level 7.

This includes demonstrating evidence of the following:

  • Career profile (CV or detailed LinkedIn profile
  • Vocational and/or academic qualifications
  • Participation in training events e.g. CPD
  • One of more survey reports (or similar_ evidence of SKEBs
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance cover
  • Public Liability Insurance cover

 

Membership grades are subject to periodical review at the sole discretion of the ISSE management team.
