ISSE Building Condition Educational Training Guidance and Qualifications

The ISSE Educational Training Guidance and Qualification Facilities provide, on a friendly, supportive, personal lifestyle orientated, holistic foundation, life-long learning, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) basis, a means of members acquiring a wide range of specialist knowledge and qualifications and attaining and maintaining a higher level of professional membership.

This consistent with the ISSE's unique holistic philosophy which incorporates, amongst other things, conservation of properties, the health, comfort and financial welfare of building occupants (on a self-funding proactive, rather than reactive, basis), associated otherwise unnecessary demand for NHS services and world environmental climate change crisis concerns and the official UK Government Office for Qualifications (Ofqual) competence assessment based requirements with External Quality Assurance (EQA) provided by the Awarding Body for the Building Education (ABBE) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University.

ISSE Training Guidance Involves participation in a mutually agreed learning plan which takes account of pre-existing knowledge/qualification(s), ongoing work experience, private study, Online Learning (currently in the process of development) and/or on or off site guided/mentored learning events, on a “pay as you learn” basis.

ISSE Qualification and Membership Upgrade is based upon on going Competence Assessment (CA), rather than formal examination, which ranges from basic foundation awareness accreditation or re-accreditation (generally rated at level 1 or 2 on the Ofqual Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) competence rating scale), to a Diploma qualification, rated at Ofqual RQF level 3 (approximately equating to A level). NB: Higher Educational Ofqual RQF compliant training and qualifications at level 6 (approximately equating to a Bachelor degree) and Level 7 (approximately equating to Building Pathologist and Forensic Expert Witness Master's degree) are currently in the final process of development and will be available in the near future. This qualification programme is designed to enable a fast track membership upgrade route for the more competent, interactive and ambitious learners and to imbue confidence in the learner, the client and anyone referring to consultants such as architects, designers and valuation surveyors and accordingly provides for a better (more successful) service provider/client relationship and a more efficient, economical, healthy and safe environment for all concerned.
